A Case of Enterocutaneous Fistulaafter Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor Excision

Abstract

|
|
Intestinal fistula or enterocutaneous fistula is an abnormal tract between skin and gastrointestinal tract, and one of the challenging problem to manage. If not adequately managed, a patient with fistula can develop severe morbidity and mortality such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances, wound infection, and sepsis. Here we report a case of enterocutaneous fistula developed as a postoperative complication of gastrointestinal stromal tumor excision, and then review the management of a patient with enterocutaneous fistula.
